Fennec Suite docs

Getting started for each plugin, plus the hooks, events and abilities developers build on. Forms and Members are at 1.0; Learn is still an early-access build, so its details can still change.

Suite concepts

The event bus

Every Fennec plugin announces state changes through one envelope shape, so automations, webhooks and other plugins can react without knowing each plugin's internals. Event names are plugin-slug/event-name.

PHP
// Listen to every Fennec event…
add_action( 'fennec_event', function ( array $envelope ) {
    // $envelope = [ id, event, plugin, occurred_at, data, site ]
} );

// …or to one.
add_action( 'fennec_event/fennec-forms/entry-submitted', function ( array $envelope ) {
    $entry_id = $envelope['data']['entry_id'];
} );

Abilities and AI agents

Each plugin registers WordPress Abilities (WordPress 6.9+), which MCP clients and AI assistants use to act on a site. Read-only and draft-only abilities are agent-visible. Abilities that return personal data are registered but hidden from MCP until you opt in with the plugin's *_expose_*_to_mcp filter. Normal WordPress capability checks still apply.

Your data and uninstalling

Data lives in your WordPress database. Deactivating never deletes anything, and uninstalling keeps your data unless you opt in to deletion first (each plugin has a setting or option for it).

Free plugin, Pro add-on

Free plugins contain no license code, no updater and nothing locked. Pro add-ons are separate plugins that extend the free one only through its public hooks, so deactivating Pro never destroys data the free plugin stored.
