The free plugin

Everything here is free. No license key, no locked buttons.

This list is the free plugin as it runs today, taken from its readme. If it isn't shipped, it isn't on this list.

  • 18 field types, plus layout blocks

18 field types plus section headings, text blocks and page breaks. Fields: text, paragraph, email, number, phone, website, date, time, name, address, dropdown, multiple choice, checkboxes, file upload, consent, hidden, product and total.

  • A modern drag-and-drop builder

Field palette, a live canvas styled like your real form, an inspector for every setting, undo/redo, keyboard shortcuts, and a preview at desktop, tablet and phone widths. Start from six ready-made templates.

  • Take payments with 0% fees

Product and total fields, paid through Stripe Checkout on your own Stripe account. No Connect, no application fee. Payment status, refunds and receipts show on each entry.

  • Entry management that keeps up

Search every answer, star, mark read, spam or trash with restore, add notes, edit entries, resend notifications and act in bulk. CSV export is escaped so it opens safely in Excel and Google Sheets.

  • Switch in minutes

Import forms from WPForms, Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, plus entries where the source stores them, with a report of anything that needs a look.

  • Conditional logic

Show or hide any field based on earlier answers, with all/any rules and eight operators. Hidden fields are never required and never stored.

  • Multi-step forms

Page breaks split a form into steps with a progress bar. Each step validates before the next, and the form still works as one page without JavaScript.

  • Secure file uploads

Allow-listed extensions, per-file size limits and real content-type sniffing. Files sit in a protected folder that only admins can download from.

  • Signed webhooks

Send each entry as JSON to Zapier, Make, n8n or your own app, in the background. Every request is signed with HMAC-SHA256 so the receiver can verify it.

  • Notifications and merge tags

An editable admin email with Reply-To set to the submitter, an optional confirmation email, and merge tags like {field:email} and {all_fields}.

  • Confirmation messages or redirects

Show a personalized message without putting personal data in the URL, or redirect to any page with encoded merge tags.

  • Spam protection

Honeypot, a signed minimum-fill-time check and a per-IP rate limit on every form. Add Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha or reCAPTCHA v3 if you want more.

  • Accessible markup

Real labels, fieldsets, an error summary, aria-invalid and visible focus rings. Styles inherit your theme through --fennec-* custom properties.

  • Block and shortcode

Drop in the Fennec Form block or paste [fennec_form id="123"]. New forms start as a working contact form.

  • Ready for AI agents

List forms and draft new ones through the WordPress Abilities API. Entries stay hidden from agents unless you opt in.

Fennec Forms Pro

Pro adds what busy sites need

Pro is a separate add-on plugin. The free plugin never contains locked code, and if a Pro license lapses, Pro keeps working. You only stop getting updates.

Billed yearly. 14-day refunds. Compare plans

Built and tested

  • Webhook retries and delivery log

Failed deliveries retry with backoff. Each entry shows every attempt, and a Retry button resends by hand.

  • Conditional notification routing

Up to ten extra emails per form, each sent only when its rules match the entry. Send sales leads to sales and support questions to support.

  • Calculation field

Live totals, quotes and scores from a safe formula engine (no eval). The server recomputes every total, so a tampered value never gets stored.

  • Subscriptions and promotion codes

Recurring payments from any form (monthly, yearly or custom intervals) through Stripe Checkout, and optional promotion codes at checkout. Still 0% Fennec fees.

  • Updates and support

One-click updates from fennecpress.com and email support. If your license lapses, Pro keeps working; you just stop getting updates.

Planned, not built yet

  • Nested (advanced) conditional logic
  • Save and resume
  • Native CRM and email-marketing integrations

Competitor prices and limits were checked on each vendor’s own pricing, docs and WordPress.org pages on October 6, 2026 (the same sources as our alternatives pages). WPForms advertises lower first-year prices; renewals are at the listed full price. “Not listed” means we couldn’t confirm it on the vendor’s own pricing or feature pages. Forms questions

Is the free plugin actually useful, or is it a demo?

Useful. Stored entries, conditional logic, multi-step forms, file uploads, CAPTCHA and signed webhooks are all free, and none of them are time-limited or watermarked.

Can I download it today?

Yes. Download the free plugin from this page and upload it under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. It passes WordPress’s official Plugin Check but isn’t on WordPress.org yet, so for now new versions of the free plugin are downloaded here too.

Where are entries stored?

In your WordPress database, in the plugin’s own tables. Nothing leaves your site unless you add a webhook URL or turn on a CAPTCHA provider.

What happens if I stop paying for Pro?

Pro keeps working. The license covers updates and support, not whether features run.

Will it import my Gravity Forms or WPForms forms?

Yes. Fennec Forms imports forms from WPForms, Contact Form 7 and Gravity Forms, plus entries where the source stores them, with a report of anything that needs a look.

Uninstalling deletes my entries, right?

No. Forms and entries stay unless you opt in to deletion first. Deactivating never deletes anything.
