What the plugins send

Last updated: October 4, 2026 ยท Effective: October 4, 2026

Our plugins store your site's data on your site. This page lists every case where they send anything off it. There is no tracking or usage telemetry in any of them. If we ever add any, it will be off by default, opt-in, described here first, and revocable in the plugin's settings.

The free plugins (Fennec Forms, Fennec Members, Fennec Learn)

They send nothing to Fennec Press. They only contact other services when you set those up:

  • Your Stripe account (Forms payments, Members subscriptions): creates and reads checkout sessions and subscriptions with your own Stripe keys. That sends the amounts, currency, the payer's email, your site address, and form, entry or membership references. Stripe sends payment events back to your site.
  • A CAPTCHA provider you choose (Forms: Cloudflare Turnstile, hCaptcha or Google reCAPTCHA v3): loads the provider's widget and sends the challenge token and the visitor's IP address for verification.
  • Webhook URLs you add (Forms): posts the submitted entry to the addresses you configure. Private and local network addresses are refused.

These services are your providers, under your agreements with them. Fennec Learn contacts no outside service.

The Pro add-ons (Forms Pro, Members Pro)

Installed Pro add-ons contact fennecpress.com for licensing and updates only:

  • License activation, daily check and deactivation: sends your license key, the plugin's name and your site's address. This happens when you activate or deactivate a key, then once a day while a key is saved.
  • Update checks: when WordPress checks for updates, the add-on asks for the latest version, sending the plugin name and your license key if one is saved. Results are cached for 12 hours. This also happens if you have not entered a key yet.
  • Downloads: when an update is installed, the package is downloaded using your license key.

WordPress itself adds a standard header to these requests containing the WordPress version and your site address, and we see the IP address of your server. We store your license, its tier and expiry, and the addresses of the sites where it is active (removed when you deactivate a site). We use IP addresses only briefly, for rate limiting and in standard hosting logs. We never receive your form entries, members, students, payments or settings.
